About Swift Counselling


Swift is a family-run prefessional counselling practice offering a specialized service to adults, children of all ages, teenagers and young adults. We work with families, couples and individuals.

We also provide supervision for EMDR trauma therapists.

The Clinic operates from two sites: Swindon, Wiltshire and from near Brecon in Wales. Normally we are able to see clients within a week of contact.

 

Our Therapists

Richard Worthing-Davies

Richard is a UKCP registered Systemic Psychotherapist and an accredited EMDR Consultant with EMDR Europe Association.

His main work is in using EMDR with individuals (mainly adolescents and adults), couples and families where life and relationships are adversely affected by disturbing experiences in the past, such as physical, emotional or sexual abuse. Also, he has a special interest in the effects of workplace stress related PTSD, and how people manage to balance the competing demands of work and home life.

Alongside his private practice he has for over 10 years provided Family Therapy within a Social Services unit specialising in working with young people and their families.

He continues to work for several Employee Assistance Programmes that provide counselling to employees of both commercial and non-commercial organisations. He is an EMDR supervisor and family therapy trainer. He has an MS in Industrial Administration from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA and an MSc in Systemic Psychotherapy from KCC

Sally Worthing-Davies

Sally is a UKCP registered Systemic Psychotherapist working with children, adults and families. She is an accredited EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) Consultant with EMDR Europe Association, using this therapy with many clients for a wide range of difficulties.

Along side her private practice she has worked for over ten years with Social Services as a Family Therapist with the Child and Families Intervention Team and provides counselling services to companies whose employees require therapeutic help with a variety of issues.

As a co-founder of SWIFT Counselling, Coaching and Conflict Resolution, she practices as a psychotherapist/counsellor, supervisor and trainer.

She has a BA from Syracuse University, USA, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Systemic Psychotherapy from Kensington Consultation Centre (KCC), London.

Marilyn Tew

Marilyn is a member of BACP, working towards accreditation.

She has a history in education, working with children, teenagers and young adults.

This experience has given her considerable expertise in working with common issues
that arise during childhood and adolescence, including anger management.

She received a Masters Degree in Advice and Counselling in Education from the University of Bristol and a PhD that enquired into children’s perceptions of being effective in school. In the last fifteen years she has worked as a consultant to schools, focusing on the emotional health and wellbeing of children, young people and adults in school communities so that they can become the best possible places for working and learning.

Marilyn’s experience includes specialist training and consultancy on group dynamics
and finding ways to engage individuals and groups in learning and growth so that they
find more health-supporting and productive ways of living.

She is an Integrated counsellor, drawing on different theoretical perspectives in her
work with clients. She is also a qualified Supervisor with a post-graduate certificate
in counselling supervision from the University of Gloucester.
